How it started
CM Risk Consulting was founded by Bruno Caron and Anthony McSwieney:
- Two AM Best alumni who served many life and annuity management teams for over 5 years together.
- Two veterans of the financial services industry with over 20 and 35 years of experience, respectively.
Our Mission
At CM Risk Consulting, our mission is to empower organizations through expert consulting in capital needs and credit ratings. Our goal is to become executive management’s partner and operative arm as it relates to insurance credit ratings and capital management.

Rating Review
We can add value by delivering a product in line with rating agencies expectations. We can also reduce internal efforts required to produce rating material. We can strategize the message and the positioning of business strategies to the rating agencies.
Capital Modeling
We help our clients model and assess their risk-adjusted capitalization. Bruno and Anthony can work at the top and the bottom of the pyramid; they can advise on high level strategic issues, and they can also roll their sleeves to get things done.

Anthony McSwieney is a co-founder and managing partner at CM Risk Consulting. Before founding CM Risk Consulting, he was a Senior Financial Analyst at AM Best.
He also held roles at U.S. Trust in the treasury group working as the ALM manager and co-managed the banks investment portfolio, JPMorgan Chase as part of a team working on mortgag
Anthony McSwieney is a co-founder and managing partner at CM Risk Consulting. Before founding CM Risk Consulting, he was a Senior Financial Analyst at AM Best.
He also held roles at U.S. Trust in the treasury group working as the ALM manager and co-managed the banks investment portfolio, JPMorgan Chase as part of a team working on mortgage production operations from reporting to hedging the business segment, OceanFirst Bank and Statewide Financial were he functioned as Treasurer of both institutions.
Anthony McSwieney holds a BA, Business/Economics from Lycoming College and a Master's degree in Business and Finance from the Stillman School of Business at Seton Hall University.

Bruno Caron is a co-founder and managing partner at CM Risk Consulting. Before founding CM Risk Consulting, he was an Associate Director at AM Best where he managed several senior management relationships of North American Life and Annuity insurance companies and opined in their financial positions.
He held a role at Jefferies where he was

Before founding CM Risk Consulting, he was an Associate Director at AM Best where he managed several senior management relationships of North American Life and Annuity insurance companies and opined in their financial positions.
He held a role at Jefferies where he was a sell-side equity associate, covering the life and annuity space. He also held roles at TELUS Health, Survival Sharing, New York Life and Willis Towers Watson.
Bruno Caron is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He is the author of the book "Lifetime Income to Retire with Strength". He holds a Bachelor Degree in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.
